Obituary for Mary Perilli (Bernola)

Mary Perilli, 84, of Monaca, entered Heaven Monday, March 3, 2014.

Born August 14, 1929, in Supino, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Angela (Tomei) Bernola. Mary came to America in 1947 and settled in Aliquippa. In 1949, she was united in marriage to her husband, Frank, who built their home in Monaca, where she was currently residing. Frank preceded her in death on February 1, 1995. A member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca, Mary faithfully attended mass every Saturday evening. A homemaker, she adored all children and particularly her grandchildren whom she babysat. Mary enjoyed cooking; her specialties were her homemade spaghetti and angel food cake. She also loved tending to her garden.

She will be sadly missed by her son, Frank Perilli and his wife, Joni; two grandchildren, Jordan and Sabrina; a brother Cornell Bernola and his wife, Betty, of Hopewell Township and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by a brother, Robert, and his wife, Denica, and a sister, Clara Pietrandrea and her husband, Nino.

A private family viewing will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1409 Pennsylvania Avenue, Monaca, on Thursday, March 6th, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Rev. Fr. Michael Ruffalo will be the celebrant.

Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.

The family has entrusted funeral services to Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca.
