Marjorie Ann Owens, 81, of Monaca, was reunited with her late husband and family on Friday, December 28, 2012. Her passing occurred at her home.

Born August 3, 1931, in Rochester, she was a daughter of the late Emery and Mary Elizabeth Mercier. Marjorie was also preceded in death by her husband, John O. Owens, Sr. on December 7, 2001.

She was a longtime member of the Astronauts Ladies Bowling League who met Tuesday evenings at the former Monaca Lanes. A loving and caring person who welcomed guests with opened arms and heart, Marjorie was referred to as ‘Mom’ by the neighborhood kids.

She will be sadly missed by her four children, Barbara (William) Weimer, of Monaca, Evelyn Owens (Larry Mitko) of Hopewell Township, Mary Ziecina of Monaca and John (Terri) Owens Jr. of Rochester; seven grandchildren, Amy, Stacey, Michael, Charles, Christopher, Anthony and Megan; 11 great-grandchildren: Kyrsten, Isaiah, Landon, Adam, Joshua, Avery, Connor, Annamarie, Brayden, Lauren and Dillon.; two brothers, Henry and William and two sisters Eleanor and Judith.

In addition to her husband and parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Rubino, in 1994; a brother, Emery ‘Sonny’, and two sisters, Ruth ‘Sis’, and Gloria.

Friends will be received Tuesday, January 1st, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, where funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. Rev. Gregory Clagg, pastor of Grace Lutheran Church, Rochester, will officiate.

Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
