Obituary for Arlene Marie Centi (DeLuca)

Arlene M. Centi, of Center Township, formerly of Monaca, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013.

Born August 1, 1933, in Blairsville, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Conti) DeLuca. Arlene was a graduate of Monaca High School and Robert Morris College. Arlene and Thomas Centi were united in marriage for 46 years until his passing. Due to her love of travel, Arlene co-owned Centi Travel Agency in Monaca and Center Township for a number of years. A faithful and devout member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Monaca, Arlene was also a member of the parish's Christian Mothers, a member of the Secular Franciscan Order Portiuncula Fraternity and served as a Eucharist minister for St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Center Township. Arlene served her community as a member of the Monaca Library Board and was a former Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed playing cards with the Club 54 Card Club.

She will be sadly missed by her four children, Joanne Grisnik and her husband, Ed; Patti Stitt and her husband, Bill; Susan Markle and her husband, Frank, and Thomas Centi and his wife, Michelle; nine grandchildren, Nicole, Mike, Jenny, Caitie, Jeff, Kristen, Tom, Sophie and Gabby; two step-grandchildren, Jason and Bradley and three step-great-grandchildren, Halie, Jason and Jameson. She also leaves two brothers, Dick DeLuca and Jim (Pauline) Deluca; a sister, Lorrie (Bill) MacFarlane; a sister-in-law, Connie Centi and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Arlene was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Marge DeLuca, and a brother-in-law, Ralph Centi.

Friends will be received Tuesday from 3 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of parting prayers at 10:30 a.m. in the SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, (724) 728-4000, followed by a Mass of Christian burial to be concelebrated at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca.

Entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Mausoleum.
