Obituary for Antonio Santilli

Antonio Santilli, 86, of Monaca, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver, PA.

He was born June 18, 1927, in Pacentro, Italy, Province of L'Aquila, a son of the late Crescenzo and Annarechilda Pachella, and was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Monaca, PA. A retired employee of LTV Steel, Aliquippa, PA, he was a life member of the S.O.I. Club in Monaca. He enjoyed gardening, pruning trees, watching wrestling and cowboy movies.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carmella Rose Petrella Santilli; a son, Christie; a brother, Mariano and a sister, Amelia LaLama.

Surviving Antonio are his sons, Anthony and wife, Darlene and Nicholas Santilli. Also survived by a brother, Ennio and wife, Marianna; a sister, Anna Volpe; three grandchildren, Michele (Shawn) Cook, Carmella Santilli and friend, Jimmy, and Melody Santilli; a great-grandchild, Carmine Cooley; numerous nieces and nephews, special friends, Violet and Bronko Lapcevich and the Nardilli family.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca (724-728-4000). A prayer service will be held on Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church in Monaca.

Interment will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Monaca.

The family would like to thank the staff at Pittsburgh's UPMC Presbyterian, Montifiore and Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver, for his care. He was a hard worker and will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
