Obituary for Ronald Hanshe

Ronald Hanshe, 79, of Center Township, passed away Tuesday evening, September 24, 2013, at his residence with his family at his side.

Born January 13, 1934, in Hopewell Township, he was the second son of the late Earle K and Ardith (Gorman) Hanshe. Ron was employed as a group leader at Westinghouse, Beaver, where he retired on February 1, 1992, following 35 years of service. He then became interested in Citizens Band Radio and soon, with a handle of ‘Easy Life (EL)’, was the ‘eyes of the truckers’ coming into the area. From May 1992 through 2011, many truckers would call upon him for assistance with directions. Ron was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca. In his younger years Ron also belonged to numerous local organizations. He loved his family and enjoyed fishing with his kids and taking day trips with his wife.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 57 years, Rita Ann (Nunzir) Hanshe, to whom he was united in marriage on May 5, 1956. He also leaves three sons, Richard in Colorado, Randy of New Brighton and Ronald of Center Township and his girlfriend, Nina Stala; a daughter, Rhonda Hanshe of Colorado; two grandchildren, Kyla and Troy Hanshe; two sisters, Joan Retzer of Monaca and Jill Vucinic of White Township and two sisters-in-law, Martha Hanshe of Daugherty Township and Nan Lamberto of Ambridge.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his eldest sister, Delores Huzinic; a brother, Earle ‘Buck’ Hanshe in February 2013, and his in-laws, Anthony and Minnie Nunzir.

Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, where a blessing service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

The family wishes to thank Mike from Progressive Home Health and Kelly, Joanne, Dee and Sister Mary Catherine of Mother Teresa Hospice for all that they did for Ron. Also, sincere appreciation is extended to Dr. Michael Oliver and his nurses.

Contributions may be made, if desired, to St. Jude Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
