Gerrie DeLauter Benedetti, 86 of New Sewickley Township, a loving and faithful widow of Andrew Benedetti, joined her husband’s side after a brief illness. Her passing occurred unexpectedly on Tuesday, October15, 2013.

The youngest of the five children of Blanche and Ronald DeLauter, Gerrie survived her parents and four siblings.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Suzanne Plaskey Baylis and her husband, Ed Baylis, and by her son, Jeremiah Satterfield, Jr.; two grandchildren, Dawn Brewer and Chad Baylis and five great grandchildren, Zachary, Erin, Taylor, Carson and Kailey. Besides numerous nieces and nephews, she is also survived by several devoted friends, ‘sisters’ and her oldest friend, Paul Haynie.

Gerrie is remembered for her work of nearly 40 years as a LPN at Friendship Ridge where she was well respected and known for her compassion for the patients and creativity.

Friends will be received Friday, October 18th, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca. Funeral services will be private. Entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Mausoleum.
