Obituary for Antonio Ciccone

Antonio ‘Tony’ Ciccone, 85, of Monaca, passed away Thursday evening, November 14, 2013, at his residence.

Born December 17, 1927, in Pacentro, Italy, he was a son of the late Pasquale and Bambina Ciccone. As a young man he served in the Italian Alpine Regiment during World War II. A resident of Monaca since 1955, Tony was a retired employee of Teledyne Pittsburgh Tool Steel, Monaca, where he worked as a metal sheerer. Tony was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Sons of Italy, both in Monaca. A lover of classical music, he enjoyed gardening and, in keeping with his Italian heritage, made sausage and wine. Tony was also a Pittsburgh Steeler fan.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 58 years, Julia Lucci Ciccone, whom he married August 6, 1955; three children, Anthony Ciccone of Monaca, Marina Ciccone Harlow of Hopewell Township and Robert Ciccone of Monaca; two grandchildren, Leah Nicole Harlow and her fiancé, John Sigado, of Hopewell Township, and Alyssa Ciccone of Monaca; a great-granddaughter, Audriana Sigado; sisters-in-law, Angeline Alexander, Mary Lucci, Christine Lucci and Rose Climo along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents Tony was preceded in death by a son-in-law, John Harlow; and siblings, in Italy, Paola Ciccone, Anna Grande, Flora Rossi; in Australia, Ercole Ciccone and Flavia Riccardi, and from Detroit, Michigan, Josephine DiLorenzo.

Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, where parting prayers will be conducted Monday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca.

Entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Mausoleum, Rochester.
