Obituary for Jack Kenny Kaszer Sr.

Jack Kenny Kaszer, Sr., 83, of Monaca, passed away Monday afternoon, January 20, 2014, at Good Samaritan Hospice of Heritage Valley Beaver.

Born May 31, 1930, in Rochester, he was a son of the late Fred and Amanda (Hicks) Kaszer and a graduate of Rochester High School. He was employed with Koppers (now Nova Chemical) for 20 years where he was named on patents for polystyrene foam and latex paint. Upon retirement he started a construction business. A life member of Saxon Club in Monaca, Jack was an avid bowler and bowled on the club’s team.

He leaves four children, Michael R. Kaszer and his wife, Betty, of Emsworth, Janet Kaszer of Woodstock, Ga., Mark E. Kaszer and his wife, Kimberly, of Ellwood City and Jack K. Kaszer, Jr. and his wife, Rachel, of Rochester; eight grandchildren, Melanie Kaszer, Amy Yonosick, April Kaszer, Mark (Kylie) Kaszer, Ryan Kaszer, Retta Kaszer, David Michewicz and Daniel (Jillean) Michewicz; seven great-grandchildren, Noah and Brooklynn Kaszer and Joey, Laurie, Landon, Rachel and Jeffrey Michewicz. He also leaves five step-grandchildren, Olivia (Allan) Vacks, Howard (Jennifer) West, Shaun (Sherrill) Robison, Chad Robison and Chris (Samantha) Burnette; eight step-great-grandchildren, Lexie and Kenzie Robison, Maia Vacks, Connor and Liam West, Issaiah Hayhurst and Zachary and Aubrey Burnette, along with a sister, Orla Schneider in Homewood.

In addition to his parents Jack was preceded in death by a daughter, Laurie Renee Michewicz; six brothers, James, John and Lee Grossglass and Frank, Fred, Andrew and Richard Kaszer and a sister, Nina Simpson.

Friends will be received Saturday from 12 noon until the time of service at 4 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca. Rev. Gregory Clagg, pastor of Grace Lutheran Church, Rochester, will officiate.

Interment will take place at Union Cemetery at a later date.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Heritage Valley Beaver Inpatient Unit, Good Samaritan Hospice and Jack’s best friend, Ellie.
