Obituary for Aquilina "Jackie" Harris (DeVincentis)
Aquilina M. ‘Jackie’ Harris, 83, of New Brighton, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, January 30, 2014, at Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley Beaver.
Born June 14, 1930, in Monaca, she was the daughter of the late Flavio and Modesta DeVincentis. A graduate of Monaca High School, Jackie was a licensed beautician and owned Jackie’s Beauty Salon in New Brighton for many years. Jackie will be remembered for her wit, charm and beauty. She was a mother to many and a friend to all and was loved by those who had the opportunity to meet her.
She leaves to mourn her loss her loving husband, Dale, with whom she was united in marriage on July 15, 1967; four children, Michael Pauvlinch and his wife, Terri, Terese Borghi-Slike and her husband, Jeff, Patrick Pauvlinch and his wife, Shari, and Kristen Essey and her husband, Michael; 13 grandchildren, Jessica, Kayla, Phillip, Bryan, Brittany, Bret, Adam, Amy, Carli, Jacob, Justin, Jess and Tim; seven great-grandchildren, Bailey, Broncston, Jacelyn, Raelyn, Irelin, Jasper and Jennon and a brother, Larry DeVincentis and his wife, Barb, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony ‘Tony D.’ DeVincentis; a brother-in-law, Milton Harris, and her father-in-law, Russell Harris.
Friends will be received Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Faith Community United Methodist Church, 341 Jefferson Street, Rochester. The Rev. Dr. Donald W. Dotterer, will officiate. A reception will immediately follow in the church fellowship hall.
Private interment will follow at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
