Obituary for Eleanor M. O'Neill (Zachodni)

Eleanor M. O'Neill, 83, formerly of Monaca, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at her daughter's residence in Columbiana, OH.

Born November 6, 1925, in Monaca, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Harmacy) Zachodni. A resident of Monaca for 81 years, Eleanor had moved in with her daughter, Teresa Boord, two years ago. She was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca, where she also belonged to the parish Christian Mothers and C D of A. Eleanor enjoyed playing bingo at various locations around the area.

She leaves to mourn her loss a daughter with whom she resided, Teresa Boord and her husband, Raymond, Columbiana, OH; four sons, John O'Neill and his wife, Mary Ann, Wyomissing, PA, Martin O'Neill and his wife, Donnette, Verona, Thomas Edward O'Neill and his wife, Cheryl, Allentown and David O'Neill of Darlington Township; nine grandchildren, Amy, Mary, Marcy, Julie, John, Nicole, Thomas, Shelly and Laura; six great-grandchildren, Lee, David, Jacklyn, Michael, Sophia and Peter; two brothers, Frank (Quenette) Zachodni, Calcutta, OH, and Michael (Lula) Zachodni, California; two sisters, Catherine Farkas Weihaus, Ellwood City and Nancy Kohlman, Beaver, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. O'Neill, on September 30, 1977, and a sister, Mary Piontek.

Friends will be received on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, (724-728-4000) where prayers will be offered on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca.

Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
