Elsie Anderson, 90, of Center Township, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at Franciscan Manor, Patterson Heights, after a long and fulfilled life.

Born January 24, 1921, at home in Center Township, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Josephine Adamek. Elsie was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Anderson.

Elsie was a faithful and charter member of Faith Lutheran Church in Center Twp. since its inception, attending services every week. She worked in the cafeteria at Todd Lane Elementary School until retiring at the age of 78. She volunteered for many years at Meals on Wheels and Franciscan Manor. Her back yard was a gathering place for the neighborhood children, where summer days could be spent swimming in the pool.

Surviving are two daughters, Karen Anderson Ekiert and her husband, Stan, of Wayne, NJ, and Jeanie Anderson Bingle and her husband, Terry, of Patterson; four grandchildren, Shannon Ekiert Johnson (Mark), Sean Ekiert (Jen), Katie Bingle (Milton Mauk) and Stephanie Bingle Corless (Brandon), and seven great-grandchildren, Lucy and Audrey Johnson, Allison and Megan Ekiert, and Trenton and twins, Dylan and Carter Mauk.

Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, (724-728-4000), where funeral services will be held Saturday, November 12, 2011, at 11 a.m. Her pastor, Rev. A. Patrice Wierick, will officiate.

Private interment will follow in Union Cemetery at the discretion of the family.

Elsie requested that flowers not be sent and that contributions be made to Faith Lutheran Church, 100 Center Grange Road, Aliquippa, PA, 15001 or Franciscan Manor, 71 Darlington Road, Beaver Falls, PA, 15010.
