Condolences

Condolence From: Denver and Josie Weigel
Condolence: Karen, Jeanie, and families: Please accept our most sincere and heartfelt sympathy in the loss of your "Very Special" Mom. It's been a long time since I saw your Mom at WalMart, but I certainly remember how she and Millie were sort of "tied at the hip", so to speak. I will always hold her memory, and that of your Dad, close. Your Mom was a special lady. Be well, and know that God can carry you through, you need only ask. With love, Denver

Condolence From: Bill Halladay
Condolence: Dear Jeanie, Karen, and Family:

You probably remember hearing about "Billy," the little boy who your mother dearly loved. I spent countless hours swimming in the pool. It is at your parents where I learned that I loved the water, even though my cerebral palsy hindered me from really learning to swim for many years. Your father and my grandfather, John Halladay, worked together at Jones and Laughlin Steel. Your mother and my grandmother, Frances Halladay, played cards for years. My grandmother was a very good cook, and often brought her delicious corn flake coated baked chicken to her card parties. They talked about how good it tasted, and your mother said, "It's the pan! It's the pan!" I always called that "It's the Pan" Chicken after I heard that story.

My grandparents' friendship with your parents paved the way for many wonderful things in my life.

Your father's cousin, Edward McCullough Anderson, is considered my grandfather as his son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Christel, helped to raise me for awhile. They would have become my guardians, but circumstances prevented this. Nevertheless, I still consider myself a member of the Anderson family.

It is also through our connection with Ed and Ada Mae that I received care at Shriner's Hospital. Twelve operations made it possible for me to walk. Without your parents' love and concern, my life could have been quite different.

While it is through attending school with Ed and Chris' children that I became a part of their family, I can see how God used the relationship we had with your family to make my relationship with their family possible. I have a wonderful "second family" through the friendship that my grandparents had with your parents. Ed and Chris treat me as their own, and their children are my brothers and sisters. I am thankful to God for how He worked out His plan through the friendships of my grandparents and your parents.

I loved your mother dearly, and am saddened at her loss. Praying for your family that God will be near to you and that you will know His peace at this time.

Condolence From: John Grossi
Condolence: I give my condolences on the loss of you mother. I remember her from our highschool days. She was extremely vibrant and outgoing with a great sense of humor. She was always positive and kind. I was fortunate to have had the opportunity for our lives to cross. Today I have a chance to remember a matriarch from Biskup Lane. God bless your family in your time of sorrow.

Condolence From: Gretchen Lehman Skinner
Condolence: We were sorry to hear about Elsie's passing. I remember her fondly.
She came several times to visit my mother, Eleanor Lehman, when she was confined to the house. She was a peppy, fun person and always upbeat.
Karen, I also remember your Mom from when we were kids.
Our prayers and sympathy are with you.
