Condolences

Condolence From: Mary Carney
Condolence: I met Michael through Penn State's Beaver Campus Art Shows in the early 1970's - I acquired 4 of his paintings during my years there - his style at that time matched my heart. These paintings traveled with me when I worked in Lesotho and Bangladesh. I carefully hand-carried 2 of his 4 paintings in my luggage, but my first ever original painting-his "Morning Sunlight", and his "Canadian Sunset" were larger than my suitcases, but both withstood seafreight shipping very well. Unfortunately, Morning Sunlight eventually disappeared from my fundraising office wall when I was working at a church.
In the early '80s when back Stateside, I slid through Monaca specifically to meet him again in the hopes of adding another special painting to my prized collection of his. He was living upstairs of his parents' house, and had a Heath kit that he was working on; he shared his passion for chess with the kits at the high school, and we had a lovely chat. His painting style, however, had changed so radically that my heart no longer connected with it - so I drifted away. From the few times I talked with him, I experienced him as a kind, quite, thoughtful, gentle man - I bless him every day whenever I see his 3 paintings, proudly hung on my walls. I shall remember him with pleasure and add his story to the backs of his paintings for whoever acquires them once I am gone.

Condolence: As saddened as I am by Michael's passing, I am so grateful for all the richness he brought into my life. Mike was more than just a friend, he was an amazing person - full of wit, wisdom, strength and courage. He was always ready to listen and give a word of encouragement. I will never forget his words of wisdom to me "What is.... is." His words helped me through a very difficult time in my life. Michael was an exceptional artist, musician, photographer and gardener. His interests were so varied and he was never reticent about sharing his knowledge. I treasure all his works of art, music, photographs and favorite recipes that he shared with me. Mike will truly be missed not only by his family members, but by me and all who knew him. Prince Michael was a true Polish gentleman. May he rest in Peace with the Lord. Barbara Kosan

Condolence: Mike, I will never forget you walking the halls at Monaca Senior High, a behind the scenes warrior, picking up and put things back in order at the school. Wont forget the chess matchs we had in the cafeteria. Strange how time goes on and we lose track of the people in our life, but our memories are just like yesterday.
Rest in Peace.
